One of Robert Duvall’s Former L.A. Homes Can Be Yours for $2 Million
You might not have been fortunate enough to snag Robert Duvall’s sprawling Virginia horse farm or ritzy New York City duplex that were recently up for grabs, complete with his own signature design touches. But now’s your chance to pick up The Godfather actor’s onetime Los Angeles pied-à-terre known as the Dove House, resting in West Hollywood; that is, of course, if you have a hankering to make the sellers an offer they just can’t refuse!
Described in marketing materials as a “storybook Spanish home in the heart of Norma Triangle with Mediterranean influences throughout,” the current owner is looking to hand over the keys for a speck under $2 million. Last sold six years ago for $1.7 million by Duvall and his Argentine actress and director wife Luciana Pedraza, the couple picked up the place back in March 2005 for $975,000.

Originally built in the mid-1920s—but reimagined by the Oscar-winner during his tenure, per the listing held by David Yadegaran, Somaye Bahmanabadi, and Davis Saadian of Carolwood Estates—the creamy stucco and terracotta-roof premises feature two bedrooms and an equal number of baths packed into a modest 1,200 square feet. There’s also a detached one-car garage, plus an uncovered parking space for an additional vehicle.
An arched wood gate swings open to reveal a private front courtyard hidden from the street by towering hedges and enhanced with a stone walkway that travels to a fountain. Once inside, the charming interiors are bedecked with solid white oak floors, arched doorways, high ceilings, and imported Horus hardware. French doors in almost every room provide seamless indoor/outdoor environs.
Other highlights include a sunken living room resting beneath a coved ceiling and displaying a Santa Fe-style fireplace, as well as an adjacent formal dining room. An eat-in kitchen is outfitted with Fisher & Paykel appliances, while the primary suite has a convenient half-bath equipped with a single sink and a Toto toilet but shares a full shower-equipped bath with the other bedroom.

Outdoors, the lush yet compact 0.07-acre grounds are laced with bougainvillea, jasmine, roses, and ivy and host a waterfall-fed lap pool that’s heated for extra enjoyment, along with several spots ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining.
A native of San Diego, the 93-year-old actor made his feature film debut as Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird and went on to win a 1983 Academy Award for his portrayal of a broken-down country singer in Tender Mercies. He’s garnered six other Oscar nods during his decades-long career for films such as The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, The Great Santini, and The Judge. The skilled Argentine tango dancer also produced, directed, and acted with Pedraza in the crime thriller Assassination Tango.
