One night only: Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant in Virginia Beach

There’s only one Hampton Roads concert this summer bringing together a 1970s rock god, a country music icon, a Bluegrass Hall of Famer and, arguably, the greatest American songwriter of all time.

That’s the Outlaw Music Festival Tour, Wednesday in Virginia Beach at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater.

Robert Plant, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss and Bob Dylan will headline after an opening set by the up-and-coming musician Celisse.

Performances will begin shortly before 5 p.m.:

  • Celisse, 4:55-5:35 p.m.

  • Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, 5:55-7:10 p.m.

  • Bob Dylan, 7:40-9:20 p.m.

  • Willie Nelson and Family, 9:20-10:20 p.m.

Plant, the former lead singer of Led Zeppelin, and Krauss, a 27-time Grammy Award winner, have a long history of sharing the stage. They paired to release the 2007 album “Raising Sand,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum. The duo released their second album, “Raise the Roof,” in 2021.

Neither is this tour Nelson and Dylan’s first rodeo.

Nelson — known for standards such as “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” and “On the Road Again” — toured with Dylan in 2004 and 2009 when they often sang “Heartland,” which they co-wrote in 1993.
