It's official: Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott are dating after meeting in August

Jonathan Scott has a "New Girl."

The "Property Brothers" star is dating actress Zooey Deschanel, 39, a “person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly” confirmed to USA TODAY Monday. The source adds that the pair first met in August while filming the series "Carpool Karaoke," which featured star-studded siblings Deschanel and her sister, Emily, as well as Scott's twin, Drew.

"Met some new humans today," Scott, 41, shared with Twitter followers on Aug. 5, along with photos of the foursome. "We had fun. I think I’ll keep them."

Friday, Hollywood Life published photos of the pair holding hands while reportedly grabbing dinner in Silver Lake, California.

Zooey Deschanel splits from producer husband Jacob Pechenik after four years of marriage

Deschanel and her estranged husband, film producer Jacob Pechenik, confirmed to USA TODAY they were splitting on Sept. 6.

"After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners," a joint statement read.

The two tied the knot in June 2015, a month before welcoming their first child, daughter Elsie, 4. They also share two-year-old son Charlie.
