Season 6 of FBI was an emotional rollercoaster for Special Agent Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane). It opened with Special Agent Trevor Hobbs (Roshawn Franklin) getting killed while working undercover for Wallace, who blamed herself for his death. Throughout the season, viewers watched as Wallace struggled to cope with her guilt, even going rogue at one point in pursuit of the terrorist who killed Hobbs. In the high-stakes season finale, Wallace was able to get justice for Hobbs when the team finally caught up to Hakim, and she killed him in self-defense. With that closure also came Wallace’s time as part of FBI .

What happened to Tiffany Wallace on FBI?
TVLine has confirmed in August 2024 that Katherine Renee Kane, who has played Special Agent Tiffany Wallace since Season 3 of the show, was departing FBI in the seventh season of the show. Her final appearance was in the Season 7 premiere episode, “Abandoned,” which marked her final appearance as a series regular. The episode saw Tiffany struggle with her fieldwork in the aftermath of the Hakim case before eventually resigning from the FBI.
The episode started with viewers learning that Tiffany had already given her notice to the FBI about her resignation due to the emotional toll the Hakim case took on her mental health. “It makes sense to need some time off.. [But] this does not have to be permanent,” Tiffany’s FBI partner Stuart Scola told her, to which Tiffany responded, “Scola. Have you ever talked me out of anything? Ever? Once? Ever?”
She added, “Sorry, but there’s nothing more dangerous than having a partner who didn’t want to be in the field anymore, but stuck around anyway.” At the end of the episode, Special Agent Maggie Bell suggests that she and Tiffany get drinks the next week before Tiffany tells her that she was moving to Georgia to be closer to her sister. When asked by Maggie why she decided to leave the FBI, Tiffany explained: “It wasn’t any one thing. I just wanted closure. I thought I’d get that after Hakim was gone; I didn’t.”
John Boyd, who plays Scola, also confirmed to Cinemablend ahead of FBI Season 7’s premiere that Tiffany left FBI simply because she didn’t want to do the job anymore. “Scola is in a little bit of denial. I don’t think he’s really ready for what is about to change in his world. He’s thinking maybe Tiff, this is nonsense about her leaving and not wanting to do the job anymore. I don’t think he really understands what’s happening in his world fully, but he ends up losing his partner and saying goodbye to a partner,” he said.
He continued, “It’s a pretty big change for him. Going forward, him figuring out who he is as an agent and who’s right for him and who’s wrong for him as a partner is going to be [fun]. It’s a fun, fun thing to explore. ”
As for Kane, the actress confirmed in a statement to Deadline that it was her decision to leave FBI (not the show’s) and that she chose to exit the series to pursue other career opportunities.“It was time to look towards new creative endeavors,” Kane said in a statement to Deadline. “I’m excited for the future and wish the show all the best.”

Things will be a little different for FBI in Season 7, with Mike Weiss taking over as the show’s new executive producer and showrunner, replacing longtime showrunner Rick Eid, who stepped down in May. The show was recently renewed for 3 more seasons, which will take FBI to Season 9. FBI has spawned two spinoffs, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted.
Katherine Renee Kane’s Special Agent Tiffany Wallace joins a growing list of recent departures from the FBI franchise, including Damian Powell (played by Greg Hovanessian) and Scott Forrester (played by Luke Kleintank) from FBI: International; Jamie Kellett (played by Heida Reed) from FBI: International; and Kristin Gaines (played by Alexis Davalos) from FBI: Most Wanted. The shows, however, are still going strong, even with those departures, and are expected to premiere as a block on Thursday, October 15th.
