SEAL Team is coming to an end with Season 7 and fans aren’t the only ones sad to see it go. Toni Trucks, who plays Davis, said that despite a “satisfying” ending for the show’s final season, she’d love to see it continue in some way.

“I’m sorry [it’s ending],” Trucks shared in a July 2024 interview with TV Insider. “I feel like seven seasons have gone by in such a flash, and it is sad. Someone was like, ‘Oh, aren’t you excited to go on to the next thing?’ And I’m like, ‘In a way.’ But I’ve been living with this person for so long that I’m going to miss her in a way.”
CBS announced in November 2023 that SEAL Team was ending with season 7. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS Studios president David Stapf noted, in part, “We are looking forward to an exciting and satisfying seventh and final season.” The Hollywood Reporter also shared that a previously announced SEAL Team movie was not moving forward. Trucks told TV Insider she was “so disappointed” the film fell through, but she was “hopeful” there are more SEAL Team stories to tell.
“I always stay hopeful when I think about these characters. I like to think that they’re out there still having adventures,” she explained. “And it would be something that would be interesting coming back to, either from a different angle or after some time has passed.” She added, “I can really see these stories, and the audiences are so attached to this world that we’ve created that it almost seems a bit of a shame not to continue to explore it. If you want to go whisper in somebody’s ear, I’ll back you up.”
How will SEAL Team end?
While she couldn’t reveal any SEAL Team Season 7 spoilers, Trucks told TV Insider the finale will leave fans “satisfied.” She explained, “I was quite nervous when I read the last episode. I just was like, how can they write anything that’s going to make me feel satisfied with being able to walk away from this? And I did. It’s odd to say after all these years, but I cried when I read the finale. And even more so I cried when I read Davis’ ending because the way they laid it out, I really didn’t expect what ultimately happened.”
Trucks added, “I think audiences will be satisfied for all parties. You do get to see where folks land. And yeah, it’s going to be powerful, but I hink that our audiences are going to be able to maybe walk away still wanting more but satisfied.” What will Trucks do after SEAL Team? She doesn’t know what’s next, but said she’d love to be in a comedy or “do something in the sci-fi world.”
David Boreanaz, who plays Jason Hayes in SEAL Team, also teased how his character’s journey concludes in the series finale and whether he ends up with his love interest, Mandy (played by Jessica Pare.) “We see it strong in the beginning. She sees the red flags as we progress into the third, fourth, fifth episode. She’s seen the cracks,” he told TV Insider in August 2024. “She’s there for him. There’s a beautiful moment in [Episode] 6 that I directed where she comes back and shows up and is there for Jason. He’s like, wow, I didn’t expect you to actually be here, right? I’m on the phone or talking about working the problem and my son has taken something that may kill him.”
He continued, “Things are bleak. And she shows up. It’s like, wow, that’s an awesome move. That’s a relationship move. That’s an I want to marry you move. That could be the ultimate for Jason Hayes. It’s the cake, it’s the best ending, and then bam, dude. It’s like, here we go. But it’s a different type of trauma that he’s dealing with, right? That’s the beauty of it.”
Borneaz also told TV Insider that the most rewarding part of SEAL Team was being recognized by real special operations members.
“That’s what these special op guys go through. And that’s hard. It’s hard to study it. It’s hard to play those emotions. It’s difficult,” he said of the show’s accurate portrayal of special ops forces. “And I always go back to when you get messages from these real guys or veterans saying, ‘Thanks for saving my life. … I changed my life. I’m going to get help.’ We know that we’re doing the right thing. We always had that and the show’s success for us was that. It wasn’t about awards.”
He continued, “It wasn’t about putting a tuxedo on and going down a red carpet. Every actor would love to do that, be presented an Emmy for so-and-so or his work being recognized. For us, but for me specifically, it was always being recognized for the people that we help. And I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of that and take that on to the next level, excited to use that to the next level and continue to shine that light brightly because just being a part of that alone has just been a very huge impact in my career.”
