Nobody Wants This Season 2 Casts Leighton Meester as Joanne’s Nemesis
Spotted: A Gossip Girl reunion on Nobody Wants This.
The hit Netflix comedy has tapped Leighton Meester to guest-star during Season 2 as the middle-school nemesis of Kristen Bell’s character, Joanne, the streamer announced on Thursday. The two women will cross paths as adults.

Meester, of course, is the wife of Nobody Wants This leading man Adam Brody (aka Rabbi Noah) and starred as Blair Waldorf on the CW drama Gossip Girl, for which Bell provided the voiceover. Meester also appeared in an episode of Bell’s series Veronica Mars.
When TVLine recently asked Meester if we might see her during Nobody Wants This’ second season, Meester replied, “Oh, that would be really fun. I’m a big fan. So, yeah, that would be awesome.” Creator Erin Foster was similarly eager to collaborate, telling TVLine last year, “I love the idea of Leighton in the show, and Adam was open to it, for sure. The short answer is, yes, I would love to have Leighton in the show.”
Meester — who currently stars in the CW dramedy Good Cop/Bad Cop — also shared that she was “really rooting for” Noah and Joanne as she watched the first season. “I loved how deeply developed both the characters were and how they got to be these imperfect people, finding each other,” she added.
In more casting news, Miles Fowler (The Resident) will guest as Noah’s Matzah Ballers basketball teammate who is set up with Joanne’s sister, Morgan (Justine Lupe), per our sister site Variety. And as TVLine previously exclusively reported, Jackie Tohn, who plays Noah’s sister-in-law Esther, has been promoted to series regular for Season 2.
