Nicki Minaj Turnt MSG Up For Pink Friday 2 Tour New York Stop
There’s no place like home.
Nicki Minaj gave her native New York crowd a night to remember for her Madison Square Garden stop of the Pink Friday 2 tour.
The evening was electric before she even touched the stage, as DJ Boof played a slew of the Queens rapper’s hits, Pop Smoke’s “Dior,” Rihanna’s “Take A Bow,” and A$AP Ferg’s “Plain Jane.” He even catered to the diversity of the sold-out audience and played records like Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” and Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” Neither race, religion nor creed mattered to the sea of people wearing pink as they turnt up to every single song Boof played.
The energy hit another level when Onika finally hit the stage. Of course, she performed songs like “Press Play,” “FTCU,” and “Needle” from her latest album Pink Friday 2, but it was the early tracks in her catalog that really set the people off. There wasn’t a single dry eye in the arena when Minaj belted “Save Me.” You could not find a single silent person when she claimed her destiny on “Moment 4 Life.”
Fans were treated to a special surprise when 50 Cent and G-Unit popped out for a nearly 20-minute set. They performed “Many Men,” “I Get Money,” “In Da Club,” and multiple other classic records from the 2000s. Monica was equally great with her live rendition of “So Gone” and other hits within her catalog.
It was an especially memorable night for the Marriott Bonvoy Moments attendees. They were treated to top-tier service in the luxury suite with complementary burgers on Portuguese English muffins, pulled pork tacos, kale salad, beer, wine, and more. Marriott Bonvoy Moments offers members access to once-in-a-lifetime experiences all over the globe by using their points accumulated from travel and other activities for either fixed-price or auctions. They will have similar accommodations for the upcoming Bad Bunny concert at Barclays Center and Olivia Rodrigo at Madison Square Garden, so if you aren’t a member yet, sign up here.
All in all, it was a memorable evening at Madison Square Garden. Nicki Minaj may be known for her antics as of late, but she has an undeniable love for her fans and a knack for putting on a fantastic concert. The Pink Friday 2 tour will continue through July with domestic stops in Brooklyn, Boston, Detroit, and Chicago before she heads overseas (find tickets here). You don’t want to miss out on a vacation to Gag City.
Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 World Tour is in support of her latest album, Pink Friday 2. The December 2023 LP featured Drake, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, and Future. It debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and she released multiple deluxe versions. The deluxe editions added “Beep Beep” featuring 50 Cent, “Love Me Enough” featuring Monica and Keyshia Cole, and “Press Play” featuring Future.
