Nicki Minaj Name-Drops Ariana Grande in New Song ‘Bust Down Barbiana’ as They Shut Down Feud Rumors on Twitter

Nicki Minaj gave her signature Barbie twist to a popular tune on Wednesday (Feb. 6), freestyling to the beat of Blueface’s “Thotiana” with her take, “Bust Down Barbiana.” 

Minaj shouts out her frequent collaborator Ariana Grande early on in the flow, rapping, “Killing everybody beat, thank u, next Ariana.” Though Arianators were skeptical of the lyric, thinking the rapper was shading the pop star, Grande quickly took to Twitter to shut down the rumors.

“there will never be anything but love between us ever,” Grande wrote. “she’s been there for me (in real life) every time i’ve needed somebody & i’ll always be there for her. we love each other. bet.”

Minaj also replied to Ari’s tweet, doubling up on the love and rumor-squashing. “Not more than you’ve been there for me behind the scenes. Love you. For life.”

The duo first worked together in 2014 on the smash hit “Bang Bang” with Jessie J, followed by the “Get On Your Knees” collab. In 2016, Minaj and Grande dropped “Side to Side” and had two songs together in 2018, “Bed” and “The Light Is Coming.”
