NeNe Leakes Claims Lisa Vanderpump Stole Her Idea and Opened Famed Restaurant PUMP
NeNe Leakes has a bone to pick with Lisa Vanderpump.
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Leakes revealed she wanted to go “head to head” with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna, but she actually meant Lisa Vanderpump.
Leakes clarified why she has a beef with Vanderpump during her appearance on Jenny McCarthy‘s SiriusXM show Friday, explaining that she believes she gave Vanderpump the idea to start PUMP restaurant.
“She knows that we have a little something, something she did to me,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta star told McCarthy.
“I’ve never really addressed it,” Leakes continued. “She did some real foul s— to me.”
Leakes then shared that a few years ago, when she and her husband Gregg Leakes were living in Los Angeles while NeNe was working on Glee and New Normal, she wanted to open a bar in West Hollywood.
“We would ride down that West Hollywood area where all the gay bars are — and I have a large gay fan base — and I kept thinking ‘it would be so cool if I had a bar right in here somewhere.'”
Leakes explained she stumbled on a space that was “empty and kind of raggedy-looking and torn down,” but thought it would be perfect.
That’s when she says she made a call to Vanderpump.
“She said, ‘Oh darling, darling, it’s a piece of crap and they’re charging so much for it darling,'” Leakes said. “She talked me off of it and then went and got it,” Leakes alleged.
“That’s so f—ed up,” Leakes said.
Vanderpump, whose restaurant SUR is featured on the Bravo series Vanderpump Rules, opened PUMP in 2014. Vanderpump also owns Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills.
Nonetheless, Leakes and Vanderpump have not spoken about the issue since.
“Now when she sees me, she’s like ‘Hi NeNe,” Leakes explained.
A representative for Vanderpump did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Vanderpump isn’t the only Bravo star Leakes’ has issues with.
For the last several years, Leakes has been feuding with on-again, off-again friend Kim Zolciak.
Their differences came to a head in 2017 after Leakes slammed Zolciak’s daughter Brielle for claiming she found roaches in Leakes’ home.
“Kim & her daughter oops whole family are racists! What her daughter did at my home, (which she nor kim were invited to so be clear abt that as well) was pure disgusting, racist, learned behavior,” Leakes said at the time.

The two seemingly buried the hatchet last year following Leakes’ husband Gregg Leakes’ cancer diagnosis when Zolciak sent her a gift basket.
“What can i say other than THANK YOU!,” Leakes wrote on Instagram in the caption to a photo of her haul, which included plushy bathrobes, motivational books, and items from Zolciak-Biermann’s Kashmere Collection. “Thank you @kimzolciakbiermann for your thoughtful gift!
