Neil Patrick Harris and James Corden deliver singing telegrams and laughs
Neil Patrick Harris joined The Late Late Show With James Corden to deliver singing telegrams to some very lucky people. Wearing red velvet tuxedos, the two drove around Los Angeles, stopping occasionally to surprise their “clients.”
Since Neil won a Tony for his performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and James won a Tony for his performance in One Man, Two Guvnors, it’s pretty obvious they know how to put on a good show.
They went to a boxing gym and surprised a couple celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary. For the singing telegram, they spoofed the song “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John, while incorporating elements of the gym into the song.
Other songs that James and Neil performed included a spoof of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” which they made about bikini waxing, and the song “Memory” from the musical Cats, which they made about cat adoption.
The Late Late Show With James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
