‘NCIS’ star Emily Wickersham confirms she’s leaving the show
“NCIS” is losing one of its veterans.
Emily Wickersham, who plays Ellie Bishop, took to Instagram this week to confirm she’s leaving the long-running procedural.
“Hangin this hat and jacket up. What a great ride it’s been,” the actress, 37, captioned three photos of her time on the show.
“This cast, this crew, are top notch. I can’t say enough kind words about this group that I’ve had the pleasure of working with for close to 8 years now and 172 episodes later,” said the “Bridge” actress.
Wickersham went on to say she feels “lucky enough to be a part of a show where I got to show up and act and laugh and learn with wonderful people.”
She thanked the show and network CBS “for including me in a part of television history,” and signed off by saying, “Time goes fast. Eat it up but chew slowly.”
The “Gone” actress joined “NCIS” — which premiered in 2003 — back in 2013.
The 18th season concluded Tuesday wherein Wickersham’s character falsely admitted to having leaked classified NSA documents and quit her role at NCIS, noting she’d be gone for awhile, USA Today reports.
