Nationally known chicken salad chain opening fifth Jacksonville-area restaurant
The nation’s only fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept is preparing to open its fifth Jacksonville-area restaurant in northwest St. Johns County.
Chicken Salad Chick will celebrate its grand opening Dec. 6-9 at its newest location — 415 Durbin Pavilion Drive at The Pavilion at Durbin Park in Saint Johns — with a variety of giveaways and other special events.
The restaurant is known for its selection of more than a dozen original fresh-from-scratch chicken salad flavors, signature sandwiches, side salads, gourmet soups and desserts.
The new restaurant joins Jacksonville's inaugural Chicken Salad Chick restaurant at 10920 Baymeadows Road in Deerwood and locations at St. Johns Town Center, 4624 Town Crossing Drive, Unit 115, and 6025 Butler Point Road No. 101 on the city's Southside.
In addition, Chicken Salad Chick has a restaurant at 1000 S. Ponce De Leon Blvd., Suite 9 in St. Augustine, also in St. Johns County, according to its website.
At The Pavilion at Durbin Park, the restaurant will feature a drive-thru as well as an outdoor patio. Its neighbors include Burger Barn Grill, Mellow Mushroom, Firehouse Subs and SoFresh.
As part of the grand opening festivities, Chicken Salad Chick plans to give away a year’s worth of free chicken salad to the first 100 people in line on opening day at The Pavilion at Durbin Park restaurant, the restaurant announced in a news release.
The giveaway guidelines say guests are advised to arrive early to secure a place in line.
"The first 100 guests must remain in line and download the Craving Credits app. Wi-Fi will not be available on-site," the restaurant said in the news release.
Once the restaurant opens, guests will make a purchase of “The Chick” or anything of greater value and enter a code in the Craving Credits App to officially secure their spot.
"If you leave the line for any reason, your spot will be awarded to the next guest in line. Guests will receive their first free Large Quick Chick electronically to your app the Monday following Grand Opening Day," according to the news release.
Other grand opening giveaways planned:
Dec. 7: The first 50 guests to purchase a Chick Trio at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. will receive a free Chicken Salad Chick 40-ounce tumbler.
Dec. 8: The first 50 guests to purchase a Chick Trio at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. will receive a free Chicken Salad Chick Jute Tote Bag.
Dec. 9: The first 50 guests to purchase two Large Quick Chicks will receive a free Chicken Salad Chick 18-can collapsible cooler.
