Natalie Wood’s daughter remembers her mother’s iconic films
Natasha Gregson Wagner takes fans on a trip down memory lane. She tells Yahoo Entertainment about her mom, Natalie Wood’s, most memorable movie roles including, “Rebel Without a Cause” and “West Side Story.” Gregson Wagner says her mother had a very maternal connection with James Dean on the 1955 film, “Rebel Without a Cause.” “First of all, she called him Jimmy,” Gregson Wagner recalls. “And I remember that when she would talk about him, her voice would become more maternal.” Gregson Wagner says that movie was a turning point for her mother’s career because “it was the first film that she actually went after and really wanted to do.” In 1961, Wood starred in “West Side Story.” Gregson Wagner says her mom was really excited about the part of Maria. “It was a huge, huge moment for her, she explains. “It really made her a superstar.”
