Molly Sims Jokes Newly Walking Daughter Scarlett Is a 'Drunk Sailor'
It’s hard to follow in the footsteps of a successful parent — but it really does start with baby steps.
So it’s no wonder that Molly Sims is such a proud mother when she talks about 14-month-old daughter Scarlett May — although she’s not quite runway-ready yet, she’s officially on the move.
“She’s walking!” Sims told PEOPLE on Saturday while attending an event for The Heart Foundation in Beverly Hills. “She’s a drunk sailor, but she is walking. She’s lock-legged, and walking!”

But then again, all first steps are quickly followed by those inevitable first falls.
“It’s awful. She’s fallen two times,” the 42-year-old yoga-loving mother of two confesses. “She had blood in her mouth yesterday. She has scrapes on her because especially during the witching hour when she gets tired … literally it’s like she just had a pint of tequila.”
And both Sims and her film-producer husband Scott Stuber, 47, might’ve missed out on the momentous milestone had it not been for the ever-watchful eye of their son: Scarlett’s big brother, Brooks Alan.
“Actually, Brooksie was the one because he always asks me when she’s going to talk,” the model and actress says. “He’s turning 4 in a month, and he wants her to talk and walk.”
“[Brooks] was like, ‘Mama! Mama, look!’ And we caught her, and she did it,” Sims adds. “She just took that step. It’s fun, it’s sweet.”
