In the upcoming series, former Scotland Yard detective Millie-Jean Black (played by Invasion‘s Tamara Lawrance) goes back to Kingston, Jamaica, to work missing persons cases. Per the official logline, she soon finds herself “on a quest to save a sibling who won’t be saved, to find a child who can’t be found, to solve a case that will blow her world apart and prove almost as tough to crack as Millie Black.”
The trailer also gives us a glimpse of the arrival of Luke Holborn (Game of Thrones‘ Joe Dempsie), a British detective whose ongoing investigation puts him directly in Millie’s orbit. The cast also includes Gershwyn Eustache Jnr (Brittannia) as Millie’s police partner, Curtis; and Chyna McQueen as Hibiscus, Millie’s sister and one of the Sunlight Ladies, aka a band of queer outcasts in Kingston.
Tanya Hamilton (Winning Time, Godfather of Harlem) directs the limited series.
