'ALL MEN?': Twitter reacts to the reported Coachella lineup of Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, and Childish Gambino
Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, and Childish Gambino are getting the Maroon 5 treatment.
An early report listing the supposed headliners for Coachella 2019 has left the Twitterverse wildly disappointed. The trade publication Hits Daily Double released the report under its “rumor mill” section, saying West, Timberlake, and Donald Glover (under his stage name) would be the main acts at the Indio, Calif., music festival, following it up with: “Believe it or not.”
And while it remains to be seen if it will happen — same as Maroon 5 headlining the 2019 Super Bowl — people are unhappy coming off a big year with Beyoncé’s historic performance. Besides, Ye has been rubbing a lot of people the wrong way these days, while many found Timberlake’s last album underwhelming, and others don’t think Glover proved himself worthy. Music writer Eric Renner Brown was one of the first to comment on the apparent three male headliners.
Beyoncé delivered the most acclaimed headlining performance in years and Coachella responds by returning to all-male headliners smh https://t.co/8ljqkcFXwl

He added that he finds “this particular trio of men … just insulting.”

In addition to the female issue, comedian Aisha Tyler’s problem was largely with West, who used the Saturday Night Live stage to decree, while wearing a MAGA hat, that we need to abolish the 13th Amendment. Not only shouldn’t he be at Coachella, she thinks, but she wants him canceled in general.
No. Just no. #CancelKanye
Also…ALL MEN? After the brilliance of Beychella?
What the actual fuck. https://t.co/GOl9lyHe34

Others chimed in to make their stance known.
MAGA era Kanye and Man of the Woods Justin Timberlake but no women? Cool. Cool, cool, cool.

If those are the rumored headliners for Coachella, I’m so glad I didn’t do the presale this year

The lineup announcement usually comes very early in the new year, so this report is early — and could be wrong. But several people suggested a way to right it would be by adding Rihanna, who hasn’t yet headlined there. Plus, she’s been working with Childish Gambino lately on other projects.
Rihanna and Childish Gambino would be Amazin‘
