Mel Gibson in talks for spy movie Every Other Weekend
Mel Gibson might be going undercover.
The actor-director is in talks to star in Every Other Weekend from French director Benjamin Rocher, Gibson's reps confirm to EW.
The action-adventure project tracks a father-son duo on a trip to Paris where they encounter trouble and secrets, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The son believes his father is a spy, even though the father is merely a CIA tech worker. However, the grandfather — Gibson's targeted role — is truly a spy.
Gibson's arrow is pointing up with his newest film, Hacksaw Ridge. The World War II biopic starring Andrew Garfield debuted at Venice Film Festival and has won over the early wave of critics. It's the first movie Gibson has directed since Apocalypto in 2006. Hacksaw opens Nov. 4.
Rocher directed a pair of action-horror movies with The Horde (2009) and Goal of the Dead (2014), as well as a police action project in The Sweeney: Paris (2015).
THR first reported the news.
