Meghan Markle's dad reveals Prince Harry's thoughts on Donald Trump and Brexit — and that's not OK
The royal wedding is over, but the drama surrounding Meghan Markle’s family is just heating up. Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, gave a revealing interview with a British TV show on Monday that raised eyebrows over Prince Harry’s political beliefs.
You’ll remember that the Duchess of Sussex’s father made a major splash the week of the wedding when he admitted to staging paparazzi photos. He then underwent heart surgery just three days before the celebrated event.
Markle decided against attending the wedding, forgoing his duty of walking his daughter down the aisle. In his first interview since the wedding, Markle was close to tears talking to Good Morning Britain about missing his daughter’s big day.
“Watching it was difficult for me, because I wasn’t there, but at the same time … I couldn’t have been more proud, he said on the ITV program.
The conversation, however, took a political turn when Markle talked about his first conversation with his daughter’s then-fiancé, Prince Harry. Surprisingly, they spoke about President Trump.
“I’ve always had a bad attitude about Donald Trump, and that’s never gonna change,” Markle said. “All Harry actually did was say, because Trump was news, he said, ‘Give him a chance.’ I think Harry’s probably changed his mind by now.”
Host Piers Morgan then asked Markle about Prince Harry’s thoughts on Brexit, the U.K.’s controversial decision in 2016 to exit the European Union.
“He said he was open to it,” Markle revealed of Harry’s Brexit opinion. “He didn’t know one way or the other; he was just saying he had to be open to it and see how it went.”
The internet quickly jumped on the political details of Markle’s interview, and people were divided. Some felt that Markle had overshared, while others felt that he had been set up by Good Morning Britain. Most agreed, however, that the royal family would not have approved of this interview.

Was sympathetic towards Thomas Markle at first. But this shows he’s just attention seeking, he knows revealing Harry’s alleged political opinions is going to cause controversy. Guarantee he will have a book out within 6 months. #gmb

I have no words….Thomas Markle is traitorous grasping scum. None of the women or men who have married into the BRF have grasping fathers or vile half/step relatives behave in this way. I am Incredibly sad for the royal couple. Poor Meghan ??

Isn’t getting Thomas Markle to talk about Harry, Trump and Brexit taking advantage of his naivety all over again?

In my opinion Thomas Markle doesn't offer up anything controversial of "troubling" for the palace in his interview with @GMB, but he does further prove that certain members of Meghan's family are a liability & I imagine she's sorely disappointed yet again.

Suspect if Meghan Markle and the palace had reached out to Thomas Markle after the wedding this @GMB interview would not be happening

Poor Meghan! Her family doesn't know how to shut the F up! I think Thomas went to far, why tell the press about Harrys personal opinion? like it really matters (if it's true). I bet the royal family is doing damage check right now and Meghan to tell her dad to shut up.

#gmb can’t help but feel Thomas Markle is being exploited here. He’s explained his reasons and he’s obviously vulnerable. Think we’ve heard enough now..
