Apple TV+ is heading to Seoul for a new music competition series, KPOPPED, the streamer announced Wednesday.

According to the show’s synopsis: “In each episode, western icons reimagine one of their biggest hits, collaborating with top-tier K-Pop idols to deliver spectacular battle performances, with a live Seoul-based audience picking the winner of the best new K-Popped song.”
Moira Ross, Megan Thee Stallion and Greg Foster will also executive produce, alongside Harry H.K. Shin and Jake Hong, with Kiwoong Kim producing for CJ ENM. Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening and David Tibballs are set to executive produce for Eureka Productions with Bruce Eskowitz.
This is Apple TV’s second K-Pop-centric series over the last year. The streamer released docuseries K-Pop Idols in August. The eight-episode series followed three K-Pop acts: Blackswan, boy group Cravity and soloist Jessi.
The documentary didn’t shy away from the realities of having to work despite things like fights among group members and being thrown into a new environment. “When I came to Korea, they were already recording the documentary,” Blackswan member Gabi told THR before the release. The 21-year-old, along with fellow group member Sriya, are initially introduced as trainees in the series, working to earn a place in Blackswan.
She later added: “This documentary comes to literally show that in this idol life, nothing is perfect. We are also, as [group member Fatou] said, human beings behind the image that we pass through the camera.”
A release date for KPOPPED has yet to be confirmed.
