Matthew Perry makes a rare cameo on Courteney Cox's Instagram: 'Real friends'
Courteney Cox had a very special Friend make a cameo in her Instagram feed on Thursday: Matthew Perry.
“Guess who I had lunch with today,” she wrote, “ I KNOW!! Could I BE any happier? #realfriends.”
The characters Cox, 55, and Perry, 50, played on the show, Monica and Chandler, were of course romantically entwined on their long-running NBC show, and became parents in the finale.
Their Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow commented on the social media snapshot — as did others, including Allison Janney, Christa B. Miller and Eric Stonestreet.
Some even asked about the twins.
While there are lots of Friends reunions — on Thursday night, Cox and Lisa Kudrow helped honor Jennifer Aniston as she received the Artists Inspiration Award at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's 4th Annual Patron of the Artists Awards — Perry typically isn’t among them. His last red carpet was in 2017 — and that year was also the last time we saw him on-screen.
However, Perry was there when all six Friends co-stars caught up. Aniston shared the photo — also including Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer — when she recently joined Instagram
Perry, who has long struggled with addiction, has had health woes he’s been dealing with. Last year, he was hospitalized for three months while recovering from surgery for a gastrointestinal perforation.
In June, photos of him looking “disheveled” with unkempt fingernails while out in NYC raised concern from fans. However, he humorously responded to the chatter, making a joke about needing a manicure.
