Matt Damon Shares His Reaction to the Clooney Baby Announcement on ‘Today’

The news was announced Thursday that George Clooney and his wife, Amal, are expecting twins due in June. Matt Damon stopped by Today, where he was asked about this exciting time for his friend George and how he found out about it. Damon has three children with his wife, Luciana, and a stepdaughter, so he knows what’s in store for Clooney. And according to Damon, Clooney has a lot to learn.

“We were working together last fall and he took me aside and told me, and I was so happy for him,” Damon said. “I said, ‘How far along is she?’ And he goes, ‘Eight weeks.’ And I’m like, ‘Don’t say anything!’ He didn’t know the 12-week rule. You have to wait.”

Damon went on to say the kids are really lucky that they’re going to have such a kind, smart, and loving father, and that he thinks Clooney will be a great dad. Having plenty of diaper-changing experience himself, Damon also said that the Clooneys are gonna need some help with the twins.
