Is The Masked Singer’s Coral a Disney Star in Disguise? Here’s Our Theory
We’re only one week into Season 13 of The Masked Singer, but I’m pretty sure I’ve already stumbled (like a zombie, you might say) upon the identity of the undersea songstress known as Coral.
To be fair, though, I have to tip my hat to the internet on this one. Within seconds of Coral opening her mouth to perform Tears for Fears’ “Mad World” on last week’s premiere, Disney Channel diehards instantly recognized the vocals of Meg Donnelly, star of the network’s Zombies movie franchise.

And it’s hard to argue with them when you really look at Coral’s first clue package of the season, particularly the model house with the American flag on it, a clear nod to Donnelly’s role on ABC’s American Housewife. There was also a “Live!” TV sign, which could have been referring to how she taped the sitcom in front of a live studio audience, or that she understudied a major role in NBC’s The Sound of Music Live in 2013. (Remember, no clue is too specific for this show.)
Coral will return to the Masked Singer stage on Feb. 19 for an evening of Shrek-themed performances, including “All Star, “Accidentally In Love,” “Hallelujah,” “I’m a Believer” and “Wide Awake.” Before you ask why the Fairy Godmother’s iconic cover of “Holding Out for a Hero” was left off this week’s setlist, don’t forget that Woodpecker (aka Marsai Martin) already performed the Bonnie Tyler tune during Season 12’s Footloose Night. And by the end of the hour, one more member of Group A — Ant, Coral, Fuzzy Peas or Paparazzo — will be eliminated, leaving only the final three.
Do you agree that Donnelly is Coral, or would you bet on another famous face being under that mask? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
