Mary Cosby ‘Formed Real Friendships’ Filming RHOSLC Season 5

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby has always been a quirky character. The Pentecostal minister accused Jen Shah of smelling strongly like a hospital and cussed out Whitney Rose. She also refused to attend the Season 2 reunion. But then Mary was back in a part-time role during Season 4 of RHOSLC. Well, sort of. She mostly dodged activities and enjoyed some McDonalds while hanging out alone in the Sprinter van. Now Mary has an exciting announcement: she has made some real friends!

It certainly sounds like Mary showed up for work this season. She has forged a bond with Angie Katsanevas. However, her good friendship with Meredith Marks has hit the skids. During the Season 5 trailer, Mary even ordered Meredith to leave her house. Is that payback for Meredith shouting “YOU CAN LEAVE” at Angie last season? Hmm … interesting.

Well, Mary seems thrilled to be holding a snowflake again. “Filming was like a whirlwind all over again, but it was a great experience because I formed real friendships this time around. So that was a real charm for me,” Mary told People.

Fans were shocked when Mary told Andy Cohen that she returned to the franchise for Season 4 “to help you all out.” Oof. “That really was my state of mind! I really felt that’s what I came back for because they needed some personality; something to spice things up,” Mary said of her zinger. “I mean, why else would I have come back?”

But Mary supposedly had some conditions about filming Season 5 of RHOSLC. “Oh, I don’t want to ever be on the show as a Friend again,” Mary again. “You just get left out of everything!” Pardon me, but didn’t Mary dip out of most of the activities last season? She continued, “So I was like, ‘I’m not coming back as a Friend. It’s either full-time or I’m not coming back at all’ because I just couldn’t do it again,” she stated.

Indeed, in the trailer, Mary went zip-lining. So, what was Whitney’s reaction? “I f*cking love the new Mary!” she exclaimed. So will fans see a brand-new Mary?

“I’ve always been the same Mary, but yeah … I feel good in my body. So I’m letting my light shine and running with that torch,” Mary explained. “That’s all I know how to do: just be myself.”

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City premieres on September 18 at 9/8c on Bravo.
