Mark Gordon Co. Sets Comedies at ABC, NBC

The Mark Gordon Co. has added two more comedy projects, at ABC and NBC, to its growing roster of pilot development this cycle.
The latest additions are “Unfunctional” at ABC and an untitled entry from writers Heidi Niedermeyer and Elena Crevello at NBC. Both will be produced through Mark Gordon Co.’s deal at ABC Studios.
“Unfunctional,” based on the life of writer and director Nat Saunders, follows a man trying to repair his relationship with his dysfunctional family while trying to move forward in his personal life at the same time. Saunders and Chris Hayward will write the script.
Sold to NBC, the untitled Niedermeyer-Crevello project is an ensemble comedy centered around two best friends living together — a contemporary “Laverne and Shirley.” The pilot will be written by actresses Niedermeyer and Crevello.
Gordon (pictured) and Gordon Co. TV chief Andrea Shay are exec producers on both pilots. The two pilots join a busy slate for the Mark Gordon Company, with the recently sold comedy “Plus One,” legal drama “Pariahs,” detective drama “Las Reinas” and an untitled Quantico project.
