M'Akin Music to perform A Beatles Holiday Tribute on Nov. 17

Nov. 12—M'Aiken Music, an all women's a cappella group, will present A Beatles Holiday Tribute concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17.

The free concert will be held at the Aiken County Historical Museum, 433 Newberry St.

"We really enjoy Beatles music, and we though it could be fun doing a cappella," group member Amy Patheja said. "Some of it's so interesting, but some of the words are challenging."

Paul McCartney, one of the Beatles' two surviving members, wrote the holiday song "Wonderful Christmastime" after he left the group.

Patheja said they will use that song to go into holiday music.

"We just thought we'd try to make people happy," she said. "Between the hurricane and everything else, we'll try to cheer people up with some happy music and get them in the holiday spirit."

M'Aiken Music is made up of seven women and the group has been performing together since 2010, Patheja said.
