Madonna announces new date for Acrisure Arena concert
Madonna announced rescheduled dates Tuesday for her North American Celebration tour, which include a new date for her concert at Palm Desert's Acrisure Arena.
The new date is March 13, two months later than the old Jan. 11 one. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the show.
The Celebration tour, which is expected to touch on all segments of Madonna's 40-plus year career, was scheduled to begin in Vancouver July 15. The rescheduled concerts in the U.S. will take place following UK and Europe dates.
Madonna postponed her Celebration tour initially as she was recuperating from a stay in a New York intensive care unit due to a “serious bacterial infection," in June. The superstar’s manager, Guy Oseary, posted a message on Instagram at the time that the singer was expected to make a full recovery.
“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection, which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,” he wrote. “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.”
Due to scheduling conflicts, concerts in Tulsa, Nashville, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Phoenix have been canceled. Refunds for those concerts will be issued at the original point of purchase.
"Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future," a spokesperson for the singer said in a statement.
