Machine Gun Kelly & Trippie Redd Take a Stroll Through the Pharmacy in Pete Davidson-Assisted ‘Candy’ Video: Watch
Following the release of his Hotel Diablo album, Machine Gun Kelly delivered another video from the project with “Candy” on Tuesday. The Miles and AJ-directed clip stars Saturday Night Live‘s Pete Davidson, who is a close friend of Kelly’s, and finds MGK and fellow Ohio rapper Trippie Redd taking a stroll through a pharmacy as they rhyme about their issues with addiction.
The woozy flick kicks off with a pair of kids looking to purchase some cough syrup called “Lit Juice,” which they claim to be for their sick mother. Davidson is in the role of an annoyed pharmacist and he isn’t fooled, but goes on to tell the children that they’ll need to devise a better plan if they’re going to be purchasing drugs illegally.

Redd and Kelly then pop up and head down the pharmacy’s aisles with trippy effects being used to show them falling deeper into their own world with the more drugs used to cope with life’s pains. “Stay up, take addies, yeah/ I’m tryna fix this damage, yeah/ You know I keep that candy, yeah/ I need more like Mandy, yeah,” MGK raps in reference to Mandy Moore‘s “Candy.”
In an Instagram post, the Cleveland native said that each track from Hotel Diablo is just a different entryway to his soul. “the last 2 years i was looking for a place to go where i could escape … but that place was in my head the whole time … Hotel Diablo became a concept album with each song acting as a different door to the soul; don’t be scared to unlock them and come inside. the truth sets us free and the mind is an infinite world,” he wrote.
