Macaulay Culkin is back as Kevin McCallister in 'Home Alone' Google commercial
Actor Macaulay Culkin recently reprised his iconic role from the 1990 film Home Alone, only this time it was for a commercial. In a new ad for Google Assistant, the now 38-year-old actor steps back into the shoes of Kevin McCallister and goes through a few classic scenes from the film, such as putting on aftershave — sans his classic scream — and jumping on the bed, but now with a little help from Google Assistant.
“Hey Google, add aftershave to my shopping list,” Culkin says in the ad.
Other classic scenes redone with a Google Assistant twist include Kevin getting pizza delivered, dealing with the scary furnace in the basement and prepping the McCallister house for an impending criminal invasion.
Culkin, who eventually took a near decadelong break from Hollywood to try to have a normal adolescence, has talked openly in the past about avoiding Christmastime in public because of Home Alone’s popularity. But, as a recent string of interviews to promote his Bunny Ears podcast have shown, he has been embracing it more and more.
Naturally, fans on Twitter are feeling very excited and nostalgic about Culkin’s decision to reprise the classic character.
