Macaulay Culkin asks J.K. Rowling to cast him in 'Fantastic Beasts' — and fans are into it
Macaulay Culkin is looking for work, perhaps something in the wizarding field. Yesterday the former child star tweeted Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling supporting her controversial choice to make the snake character Nagini human in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. And while he was at it, he sent over his qualifications for starring in the next Fantastic Beasts film. Here’s the tweet that has Potterheads and ’90s nostalgists all worked up.
Hey @jk_rowling I’m with you!
Nagini can be whatever she wants to be! She’s a strong woman/snake.
Also, can you write me into the next movie? I’m Macaulay Culkin (From Home Alone: The Movie) and I was also a Pagemaster (experienced with magic)…

Knowing what we do about Culkin and his self-lacerating sense of humor (remember this disturbing Home Alone tribute?), this tweet is probably not the sincerest. Culkin boasts that he’s “experienced with magic” thanks to his performance in the largely forgotten 1994 animated film The Pagemaster, about a boy who magically becomes a character in a library book. And in case anyone has forgotten, he reminds Rowling that he was the star of Home Alone — or as he calls it, Home Alone: The Movie.
In a follow-up tweet, Culkin also offers to bribe Fantastic Beasts star (and real-life friend) Dan Fogler for a reference.
Hey @mrdanfogler put in a good word for me. There’s a back rub in it for you. 😉
BTW, it’s me Macaulay Culkin (From Home Alone 2/we’re friends in real life).

Culkin told Jimmy Fallon in August that he’s no longer actively seeking acting gigs. Nevertheless, fans on social media are tickled by the idea of two iconic childhood worlds colliding.
That is…actually something I’d pay good money to see.

Ooh, this! Give him Depp’s job.

Culkin’s Twitter replies include the mandatory Home Alone and My Girl jokes…
Doesn’t even need magic, Give him two hours of prep and access to a home depot. Nobody stands a chance.

Don’t do it, he can’t even handle a bee sting

… but also, some plausible casting suggestions.
In the The Good Son, you played evil so well. I think a dark wizard would suit you in the HP franchise

Scorpius Malfoy, best casting choice.
— Civil War II Veteran (@Arithered) September 26, 2018
He COULD play Abraxus Malfoy

If Rowling needs another Malfoy, she knows where to find him.
