Lyle Lovett and His Large Band set to swing at Newport Music Hall on July 24
Grammy Award-winning musician Lyle Lovett, who fuses country, jazz, blues, big band, swing and gospel into his own signature sound, is lined up to perform with His Large Band on July 24 at Newport Music Hall.

A crafty wordsmith, Lovett is noted for his wry, deadpan sense of humor in many of his lyrics and his music's sophisticated orchestration. He has won four Grammys, is an Austin City Limits Hall of Fame inductee and was named Texas State Artist Musician by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Among his dozen-plus albums are the Grammy-winning "Lyle Lovett and His Large Band" and "The Road to Ensenada" and his most recent release, "12th of June."
In addition to his musical endeavors, Lovett has acted in a number of TV shows and movies, most notably four films with late director Robert Altman.
