Luke Perry honored in touching 'Riverdale' tribute featuring Shannen Doherty
Wednesday’s season premiere of Riverdale was dedicated to Luke Perry, who died earlier this year after suffering a stroke. Perry played Fred Andrews in the series, the father of principal character Archie Andrews.
After Perry’s untimely death, the series was forced to explain Fred’s departure from the show. The storyline was that Fred died after being struck by a car while helping a stranded motorist.
The motorist in the episode was played by none other than Perry’s former Beverly Hills, 90210 castmate, Shannen Doherty. Her appearance caused quite a buzz on social media, as she had such a long history with Perry.
