Luke Perry Billboard Promoting Final Film Role Pops Up in Hollywood
A billboard promoting Luke Perry's role in the new Quentin Tarantino movie has gone up, appropriately enough, in the heart of Hollywood.
The billboard is on Sunset Blvd. and shows Perry in character as Scott Lancer, an actor who appears in a show alongside Leonardo DiCaprio‘s fading western TV star Rick Dalton.
It reads simply, "Luke Perry is Scott."
Luke Perry passed away on March 4 after suffering a stroke and his final appearance on the CW show "Riverdale" came on April 24 and left fans in tears.
In his final scene, Perry's character, Fred Andrews, and his TV son, Archie, share a touching moment.
Perry appears in the kitchen with Archie, played by KJ Apa, after they learn the guy Archie fought is now dead. When Archie blames himself — despite the fallen fighter taking drugs before their match — Fred Andrews looks into his son's eyes and says his final words, “You’re innocent.”
The heart-wrenching moment left fans in puddles on social media.
"Watched Luke Perry's last riverdale episode. Paused it, said a little prayer and shed a few tears. We miss you Luke. Fred Andrews will be forever in our hearts," one fan wrote.
"My heart cannot handle this being Luke Perry’s last episode," tweeted another.
Although the tears were flowing, fans were warned by the show creator ahead of time about the touching moment between Luke and KJ's characters.
"This week’s #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed. As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever," Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared ahead of the episode.
"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," a project Perry's son says he "was so proud of," hits theaters on July 26.
