'Lost in Space' reboot: Netflix teaser shows same amount of danger for new Will Robinson (video)
There is a new Will Robinson in town. Actually, he’s getting out of town in the first look at Netflix’s “Lost in Space” reboot.
“Earth is our home, but only so long as it keeps us safe,” Will’s mother, Maureen Robinson, says as she narrates the clip showing the planet in turmoil and her family making their way onto a spacecraft. “When this world can no longer serve that purpose, another planet, another colony, another chance, the rest of human history begins — now.”
The streaming service released the clip on Wednesday, which included the announcement the series will drop on April 13.

Netflix’s “Lost in Space” is a modern reimagining of the classic 1960s science fiction series. Set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment, light-years from their original destination.
The Robinson family are stranded with two outsiders, the unsettlingly charismatic Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) a master manipulator with an inscrutable end game and Don West (Ignacio Serricchio), a roguish, charming and highly-skilled, blue collar contractor, who never intended to join the colony — or crash land on a lost planet.
This is our first real look at “Lost in Space” — unless you’ve been living in space, that is. Netflix gave NASA early access to the pilot to share with astronauts at the International Space Station 12 days ago.
