Cohan will executive with Fricke and Laura Terry via their Pursued by a Bear Prods. CBS Studios, where Fricke has been under a deal, is the studio.
This is a rare CBS Studios sale at NBC where the studio aligned with a rival broadcast network. CBS had a hit with the 2005 drama Medium starring Patricia Arquette, which ran on NBC for five seasons before being canceled and moving to CBS for two more seasons, which were produced by CBS Studios.
Deadline first told you recently that Cohan closed a deal to co-write and showrun the Netflix series adaptation of Emily Henry bestseller Happy Place for Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican. That project remains in development at Netflix.
As a co-executive producer on Bridgerton‘s first season, Cohan shared in Netflix hit’s 2021 Outstanding Drama Series Emmy nomination. She serves as co-EP on the upcoming Netflix thriller limited series The Perfect Couple and Hallmark+’s Chicken Sisters. Previously, she wrote for Warner Bros/Netflix’s Special, Paramount/BET Plus’ The First Wives Club, Netflix comedy series Santa Clarita Diet, ABC’s Telenovela and MTV’s Awkward. Cohan is repped by UTA, 3 Arts, and Yorn Levine Barnes.
Fricke most recently developed, wrote, executive produced and served as showrunner on Walker, which aired for four seasons on The CW. She also co-created and executive produced spinoff Walker: Independence, which aired for one season. Fricke’s other writing-producing credits include 4400, Valor and Wayward Pines. She is repped by UTA and Felker Toczek Suddleson.
