'Live Comedy Showcase' set
Jun. 18—MIDLAND — Cinergy Cinemas and Entertainment has announced the third installment of its "Live Comedy Showcase" featuring a fresh headliner, professional comedian, Jerry Garcia.
Garcia takes the stage at Cinergy's Midland location, 1917 Liberty Drive, for one night only June 22. You can also check out his comedy special, "Jerry Garcia: It's Not My Weekend," now on Max and HBO Latino.
Doors open and check-in begins at 7:30 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available now at www.cinergy.com/film-info/midland/live-comedy-showcase. You must be 17 or older to attend. Arriving early is recommended as the show is general admission and seating is limited.
Garcia, a veteran comic from Huntington Park, Calif., who has taken the national comedy scene by storm. With his strong delivery, likability, and memorable interactions with audience members, Garcia's performances make fans feel like they've met a new "funny friend," a news release said.
In June 2017, he co-starred in Chingo Bling's Netflix special, "They Can't Deport Us All."
In 2016, he was named Best Comedian at the San Diego Comedy Festival, and a few weeks later, took home LA's Funniest Comic Contest Headliner Division Championship. He has performed across the U.S. and joined the Armed Forces Entertainment on a world military tour in 2015. Jerry's TV appearances include HBO Latino, "LAUGHS on BiteSizeTV," and "Stand-Up and Deliver."
Garcia co-hosted the "Jeff Garcia Podcast Show" (one of the most successful Latino Comedy Podcasts on iTunes) from 2011 to 2014 and is currently a featured member of Paul Rodriguez's Latin Kings of Comedy, the release said.
