“My Life with the Walter Boys ”Cast Teases 'Juicy' Drama to Come as Production Begins on Season 2
Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde and Ashby Gentry are back on location in Calgary, Canada as season 2 of the hit Netflix series gets going
The cameras are officially rolling on season 2 of My Life with the Walter Boys – and things are going to get even juicier!
On Wednesday, Aug. 14, Netflix announced that the follow-up to the hit first season had begun production in Calgary, Canada, more than nine months after the show was renewed for a season 2.
Star Nikki Rodriguez, who plays protagonist Jackie Howard, told Tudum that it means "everything" to be back for round two. “There’s nothing better. There’s really no better experience," she said.
Ashby Gentry, who plays one third of Jackie's love triangle as Alex Walter, teased to the outlet that season 2 gets "juicy with a capital J."

Netflix announced that production had begun on season 2 with an Instagram post showing a collage of photos of the cast who are back together on the picturesque Calgary ranch where they shot season 1. Among the photos is a shot of Rodriguez and Sarah Rafferty, who plays her adoptive mother-figure Katherine Walter, as they hold up peace signs indicating season 2.
The collage also features a solo shot of Noah LaLonde, who makes up the final third of the love triangle stars as smoldering older brother Cole Walter, while Gentry posed with two of his onscreen brothers, Myles Perez, who plays Lee, and Isaac Arellanes, who plays his twin, Isaac.
The post also sees the stars involved in the love triangle at the story's center pose together, with Rodriguez getting cozy in a booth with LaLonde, 26, next to her and Gentry, 23, next to him.
Marc Blucas, Connor Stanhope and Corey Fogelmanis — who play the Walter family patriarch and two other Walter brothers — respectively, were also featured in the post.
Rodriguez, Gentry and LaLonde all reposted Netflix's collage to their Instagram Stories, and LaLonde also posted a beautiful shot of a sunset over the Calgary ranch where they film, writing over it, "Welcome home."
Both Rodriguez and Gentry shared additional posts, too, reposting a photo from costar Mya Lowe (who plays Kiley) of several of the female cast members pointing at Gentry as he posed in the middle. "Good to be back ??," Lowe captioned the shot.
When Rodriguez spoke to PEOPLE in February, the actress said "I wish I knew" when asked about the second season, though she raved about her castmates. "I got super, super lucky. Everyone in the cast is – from the bottom of my heart – the most genuine people. I couldn't have asked for a better cast."
Her bond off-screen with LaLonde and Gentry is particularly close. "We hang out all the time," she said. "They're both so amazing and wonderful people, and I just love them dearly. I love them both."
The exact storyline of season 2 still remains a mystery, as the first season followed the plot of Ali Novak's 2014 book of the same name – seeing Jackie (Rodriguez) thrown into the chaos of the Walter house after suffering a tragedy and ending up torn between Cole (LaLonde) and Alex (Gentry).
Rodriguez called the season 1 ending "crazy," as she told Tudum, “I mean, Jackie straight up runs from all of her problems, which is honestly so relatable."
Novak hadn't written a sequel when the show first premiered, but following the news of the show's renewal, she confirmed that she's writing a second book in the series that tells the story of what happens after the book ends – when Jackie goes to New York City for the summer after confirming her feelings for Cole. The sequel, My Return to the Walter Boys, comes out April 15, 2025.
