After All That, Lea Michele Has Had To Pull Out Of 10 Days Of "Funny Girl" Performances Due To Getting COVID

Even someone who is fairly unfamiliar with the comings and goings of Broadway is likely aware of all the drama surrounding Lea Michele's casting as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl.
Either that, or the TikTok algorithm has been targeting me very specific content.
For context, Lea finally took to the stage for the first time earlier this week — with initial reports touting six standing ovations for her debut.
There have also been some bootlegs floating about, not that I would ever encourage such behavior.
Well, it's time to add another chapter to this lengthy tome — because Lea has had to cancel some of her performances due to "early signs and symptoms of COVID and an inconclusive test result."

"Due to the production's safety protocols I'm not allowed to perform for today's shows. I will be testing again and will know more about tomorrow's performance soon," the post continued.

Julie [Benko] is going to crush it today as Fanny — as are all of our amazing understudies who have stepped up so incredibly this week while we battle a very intense COVID outbreak in our theater."

Hope the cast and crew are safe and healthy!
UPDATE: Lea has indeed tested positive for COVID and will be missing 10 days worth of shows.
