Lauryn Hill and Daughter Selah Marley Own the Front Row at Burberry’s Winter 2025 in Platform Shoes and White Boots
While there were plentiful checker-print-decked celebs at the Burberry Winter 2025 at the Tate London on Monday, Lauryn Hill and her daughter Selah Marley stole the show in layer upon layer of Burberry plaid, head-turning headgear and trendy shoes.
Marley paired a flowing wool Burberry poncho with its iconic checkered scarf, a playfully giant brown fur trapper hat and a large orange-brown triangular Burberry weekender bag. She completed the stylish pants-less winter ‘fit with white knee-high croc-embossed boots from Paris Texas. The ’70s-inspired statement boots feature a 105mm stiletto heel, sharp pointed-toe and are made from crocodile-effect calf leather.

While Hill’s black patent leather square-toe platform shoes were barely visible under her brown floor-length flared wool trousers, her outfit did the talking. She wore a striking plaid Burberry trench coat with a red plaid scarf over her shoulder and red leather gloves, bringing out the jacket’s red accent stripes.
She wore a cozy green scarf as a head wrap and carried two Burberry bags; a red plaid purse to match the scarf and a fuzzy brown bag with another scarf hanging out of it. She completed the look with oversized round black sunglasses from the English fashion house, looking incredibly cool while proving that sometimes more is certainly more.
Marley, a singer and model, is no stranger to high fashion, as she has walked the runway for Chanel, served as a brand ambassador for the Chanel Chance fragrance and been attending fashion week since she was a teen. Understandably, she’s found inspiration in her famous mother’s distinctive style. When asked by i-D in 2024 whose closet she would raid, she said her mother’s, and that she does so regularly.
The Burberry show closed out London Fashion Week in style. Burberry Creative Director Daniel Lee found inspiration for the collection in Londoner’s winter weekend getaways, in the old tapestry and fabrics of big countryside houses. The high-ceiling room in the museum was dreamily ensconced in curtains printed with cloudy images of the countryside, contrasting with a bright blue carpet.
A gaggle of celebs were decked out in variations of Burberry’s iconic checker print, along with some earth tones, including Jodie Turner-Smith, Law Roach, Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham, Kim Cattrall, Orlando Bloom, Anna Wintour, Skepta and Nicky Hilton. Additionally, three British actors walked the runway: Lesley Manville from “The Crown;” Richard E. Grant, who starred in Saltburn; and Jason Isaacs, currently starring in “The White Lotus.”
