Lady Gaga Revives Her Dramatic Fashion Roots in Sculptural Corset Dress and ‘Cocoon’ Lace Look at ‘Chromatica Ball’ Film Premiere
Lady Gaga went back to her artistic, avant-garde roots with her look for the “Gaga Chromatic Ball” world premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday. The Grammy winner joined Scott Evans onstage after the fan screening to discuss the project and showed off a second look for the evening.
For her red carpet attire, Gaga wore a sculptural piece by Berlin-based Argentinian designer Selva. The ornate piece featured a laminated white muslin calico cotton one-shoulder corset dress with holes stenciled into the fabric of the skirt.

A white lacquered shoulder sculpture made of discarded car parts framed Gaga’s shoulders and torso for a wholly unique aesthetic with futuristic elements.
Gaga paired the intricately designed piece with platform, lace-up boot stilettos and opted for minimal jewelry, keeping her garment the centerpiece of her entire look. Gaga’s raven-black locks were styled by Frederic Aspiras, with makeup that included bold eyes and pop of red lip by Sarah Tanno. The Grammy winner’s entire ensemble was curated by Hunter Clem.
Gaga made an outfit change prior to the Q&A segment following the HBO concert film fan screening. For her conversation with Scott Evans, the multihyphenate wore a custom look by Germany-based designer Aziz Rebar.
The black long-sleeve dress was comprised of stretch jersey material with an elongated skirt and delicate lace detailing.
The gown also created a cocoon-like structure around Gaga’s head, with a peek-a-boo slit to frame the singer’s face. Along with the gown, Gaga accessorized the look with a lace mask by Philip Treacy.
Gaga’s style has evolved over the course of the last several years. The singer catapulted to fame not only for her talent, but also her approach to fashion and sartorial statements. Some of Gaga’s most memorable looks include her meat dress at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and her four Brandon Maxwell looks at the 2019 Met Gala.
“Gaga Chromatica Ball” is an HBO film chronicling Lady Gaga’s performance to a crowd of 52,000 people at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles during her 2022 “Chromatica Ball” tour. The concert film premieres on HBO on May 25.
