L.A. Comedy Clubs Pay Their Respects to Brody Stevens, Tribute Show Announced
Comedy clubs around the Los Angeles area are paying their respects to comedian Brody Stevens, who passed away on Friday.
The Comedy Store changed its marquee read “We Enjoyed It RIP Brody Stevens,” while the nearby Laugh Factory had a sign that read, “Brody Stevens Rest in Peace Make God laugh.”
Comedians Sarah Mello and Sam Tripoli announced a show on March 5 called “Enjoy It: Brody Stevens’s Festival Of Friendship Show!” Proceeds from the show, according to Mello, will be going to his funeral costs and mental health organizations.

Stevens was actually a college baseball pitcher who received a scholarship to play at Arizona State University. He appeared in four games before leaving school to focus on comedy.
ASU paid tribute to Stevens before their game on Saturday with a moment of silence.
As The Blast first reported, Brody Stevens died on Friday afternoon at the age of 48. Investigators believe the cause of death is suicide by hanging.
A rep for Brody Stevens said of his passing, “Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community. He pushed creative boundaries and his passion for his work and his love of baseball were contagious. He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time.”
Sources close to Stevens’ circle told The Blast that Stevens he was very devoted to his mother in Palm Springs in the past few months. We’re told he had also confided in friends recently that he took himself off his medications because he felt they “dulled” his creativity as a comic.
