'L.A.'s Finest': See the first footage from Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba's 'Bad Boys' spin-off
Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba are here to warn you not to expect skimpy cop outfits and pillow fights in L.A.’s Finest.
In the first teaser, the stars of the upcoming Bad Boys spin-off debut footage from their “bomb, sexy, fun action show.”
Premiering May 13 with three of the first season’s 13 episodes, the Spectrum Original series catches up with Syd Burnett, Union’s character from Bad Boys II, more than a decade after the events of the movie. The sister to Marcus (Martin Lawrence) and love interest to Mike (Will Smith) is now an LAPD detective partnered with Alba’s Nancy McKenna. Both actresses also serve as executive producers alongside franchise steward Jerry Bruckheimer.
“I think you really get to see a female friendship in that ride-or-die mentality play out in the best way,” Alba told EW in December. “This type of show is like my dream. Ten years ago, they weren’t making this show with female leads, they were making this show with men. Or it was written for men and they just changed it to women but it still felt very masculine. But this feels very feminine, and our characters are complex.”
