Kim Kardashian faces backlash for calling people the 'R-word' at Halloween party: 'Done.'
Kim Kardashian was upset that partygoers didn’t know she was dressed up as Pamela Anderson for Halloween, but that’s the least of her worries Thursday morning. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is in hot water for calling those people “retarded” on her Instagram Story.
“Nobody knew who we were,” an annoyed Kim said on Instagram, later adding that all of the attendees were “too f***ing young” to figure it out. “Nobody knows who I am,” Kim could be heard telling her friend and former assistant Stephanie Shepherd. “Yeah! Retarded.”
The KKW Beauty mogul later deleted the video, but many of her 120 million followers caught it before it was taken down.
One person tweeted, “using the R word on her IG story from yesterday is disgusting. And I really liked her. Watched, followed, bought s***, spent like 3 grand on her game. My brother is an ANGEL sent from Heaven and if you use it generally, you use it ALL THE TIME. Done.”
Many fans were equally as disappointed.
@KimKardashian using the “R” word on her insta stories. As a special needs parent, I’m sad and disgusted to hear a woman of your age and influence use that word. Please educate yourself.

.@KimKardashian leave the R word back in the 90s along with that look. It’s 2018, do better.

So disappointed that you used the “ R” word to refer to guests that could not identify your costume. Very hurtful

Kardashian apologized on Thursday: “I want to apologize for what I said in a recent video post that is inappropriate and insensitive to the special needs community. I try to learn from my mistakes and this is one of those times. Please know that my intention is always pure, and in this case, it was a mistake. I’m sorry.”
Over the summer, Khloé Kardashian faced similar backlash for using the “R-word” in an Instagram Live. She quickly apologized and promised to “do better.”
Ugh I hate that word! Why did I even say that? You are a million percent right and I actually greatly dislike when people use that word! I will do better! I am sorry! 😞 much love today

Kim’s not the only star to have offended the special needs community this Halloween.
