Kids Nail ‘Magic Mike’ Routine on ‘SYTYCD’

Tween hip-hop studs R.J. and Jake gave Channing Tatum a run for his money with their Magic Mike-inspired routine on So You Think You Can Dance. The 11-year-old and the 12-year-old took the stage in black pants and jackets with white tank tops underneath. Halfway through their performance, the preteens ripped off their jackets and worked their magic.

Jason Derulo and Paula Abdul loved R.J. and Jake’s sick moves, but Nigel Lythgoe was focused on something else. He said, “Jake, you’ve got a really good stank face when you do it; you get really mean with it. And R.J., you’ve got some really good rhythm going on there. So I think you complement each other really well.” The judges liked the young performers so much that they unanimously voted to send them on to the Academy, where there will hopefully be a Magic Mike-inspired sequel.
