Kevin Costner Goes Viral with His Reaction to Cher’s 'Saturday Night Live' Performance
The hit Western drama Yellowstone may have ended late last year, but star Kevin Costner is still making headlines and garnering plenty of fan attention. Instead of his on-screen roles, though, this time it’s for a highly relatable moment that the star shared during the 50th anniversary concert for Saturday Night Live.
As part of the long-running show’s anniversary celebrations, they featured a veritable cornucopia of celebrities like Steve Martin (who gave the show’s opening monologue along with Martin Short and John Mulaney), Meryl Streep, and Pedro Pascal as well as previous cast members including Kate McKinnon, Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler.
Of course, in SNL tradition, there was no shortage of musical guests. Along with in-show performances by the likes of Paul Simon, Miley Cyrus, and Paul McCartney, SNL also held a concert at nearby Radio City Music Hall leading up to the anniversary special with talents like Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, and Cher.
It was during the latter’s performance that Costner garnered attention, as he was captured on screen during Cher’s performance of "If I Could Turn Back Time" looking appropriately awed by the megastar who called back to some of her most iconic looks in a transparent black bodysuit, leather jacket, and thigh high boots.
Fans quickly pointed out Costner’s reaction, with one commenter writing, "Every human in the room was in awe of her… Kevin proves that," while another added, "Find you someone that looks at you the way Kevin Costner looks at Cher.”
This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that Costner has made SNL-adjacent news. He also grabbed attention when he was spotted sitting side by side with from SNL cast member Pete Davidson during the Super Bowl—the two were even later seen reconnecting on the red carpet for the show’s homecoming concert.
