‘The Muppets’: Kermit and Miss Piggy Confess Their Love

On Tuesday’s The Muppets, Miss Piggy broke her leg in a “heroic” dance number and was loopy from her morphine drip. On her way into surgery she told Kermit she loved him. Of course, she also told the hand-sanitizer dispenser she loved it too — but even so, it made Kermit realize that he was still in love with his porcine ex-girlfriend.

Though he wanted to confess his feelings, Kermit got cold webbed feet before letting her know. As he lamented his situation, he found inspiration in musical guest Jack White, who encouraged Kermit to show Piggy know how he felt. Because it’s Miss Piggy, any gesture he made would have to be grand.

As a frustrated Miss Piggy sat on a plane and asked for her customary preflight calzone, Kermit appeared holding her favorite folded Italian food. He told her he loved her, and she was about to respond when her Ambien and two glasses of chardonnay kicked in and she abruptly fell asleep.

The Muppets airs Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.
