Kehlani Files Restraining Order Against Ex As He Shares “Receipts” Amid Abuse Claims

It’s only been a week since Kehlani and their ex/daughter’s father, Javaughn Young-White both took to social media to state that they would keep details and updates about their “legal, private, familial matters” away from the court of public opinion. However, new court documents have surfaced along with alleged evidence where both parties have reportedly accused the each other of abuse and more.

On Tuesday (Aug. 13), TMZ reported that Kehlani filed a restraining order against Young-White, claiming he called her a “b**ch” and “liar” and said they trapped him.

Page Six obtained the court documents and reported that the singer confessed Young-White was abusive for years, but they chose to file the restraining order in mid-June after he allegedly became “enraged” and “smashed through [their] locked bedroom doors [in] a fit of anger.” At the time, he was reportedly staying with Kehlani and their 5-year-old, Adeya Nomi, in the singer’s home.

The fight ensued because the “After Hours” singer reportedly questioned why he filed for public assistance. While living with them, the documents state that Young-White was “smoking marijuana every day and all day” and consuming psychedelics. They also accused him of “disappearing” for lengthy periods of time and lacking “personal hygiene and self-care.”

The complaint read, “If he has our daughter in his care, she is returned filthy and reeking of marijuana.” When describing his behavior, the singer put in the filing, “He is not emotionally well and appears to suffer from periods of despair and often tirades of uncontrollable anger and rage. When he is agitated, he cannot stop moving and throws his arms in the air while yelling and screaming at me, often throwing items and calling me horrible names.”

However, when TMZ’s report came about, Kehlani released a statement on Instagram that read, “I did not make a statement nor did I tell TMZ about my business.”

Young-White later accused the singer of “framing her abuse as mine.” He proceeded to share alleged text messages where he expressed how he “begged” to be left alone because “I knew what you were about to do.”

The 27-year-old said that he “cut off contact with [Kehlani] last month because of her abuse and how she alleges abuse when she is scared.” He feels speaking privately with Kehlani is a “liability to [his] safety because of [their] lying ability.”

He also shared that he’s spoken to Kehlani’s ex-girlfriend, Kiara Russell, and said that infidelity on the singer’s part led to their breakup. Young-White also accused Kehlani of “alleging rape and abuse when she has nothing else to cling to.” He later said that he’s been “lied on” and “manipulated” for years and noted that when he tried to “leave for good,” he was “retaliated against with violence and anti-Blackness.”

Per TMZ, a judge did sign off on the temporary restraining order. The singer was also granted sole custody of their daughter until a Sept. 3 hearing.
