Katy Perry teases new song with a preview clip and a very metallic look

Katy Perry is getting fans excited by sharing a snippet of her new single, "Woman's World," from her upcoming studio album.

On June 17, the former "American Idol" judge, who hasn't released an album since 2020’s “Smile,” announced that "Woman's World" will be available on July 11, with its official video arriving the following day.

Perry, 39, shared the news alongside a photo of her posing in a white bikini and space-age, metallic-looking pants. The "Roar" singer stands with her hands on top of her head, clutching a mane of dark hair, in the image.

Perry shared 15 seconds of "Woman's World" the same day on TikTok and Instagram in a selfie video that showed her lip-synching along to the song's lyrics while dressed in the same ensemble.

“Sexy, confident, so intelligent/ She is heaven-sent, so soft, so strong,” she sings, campily kissing her bicep.

Perry's admirers celebrated the song's upcoming release in the comments of her post.

"THE WORLD IS HEALING, KATY PERRY IS SO BACK," wrote one.

"I am so HAPPY and very excited!" added someone else.

Perry has yet to reveal the title for her new album.

The "E.T." singer's teaser video comes a little less than a month after she bid farewell to “American Idol” viewers on the show's May 19 season finale. She'd announced her plans to leave the show during a Feb. 12 appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

“I love the show so much, but I want to go and see the world and maybe bring new music,” she said.

On April 13, Perry teased fans about new music when she showed up holding a clear purse at the Breakthrough Prize ceremony at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

The purse contained a very visible white piece of paper with the message “KP6: Top Secret” written on it.

Perry's fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, confirmed she was working on new music when he stopped by TODAY with Hoda & Jenna on April 19.

“We had all these grand plans that we can’t execute until now. She’s got new music coming,” said the "Orlando Bloom: To the Edge" star while addressing their wedding plans.

When Jenna Bush Hager mentioned the "KP6" message in Perry's purse, the actor, 47, got tight-lipped. “Ah, yes, I better be careful about what I say,” he said, jokingly putting his head in his hands.

“There’s a lot of cool things happening,” added Bloom.
