Katy Perry Shares the Heartwarming Way She Bonds With Orlando Bloom’s Teen Son Flynn
When Katy Perry needs advice on her music, she turns to a very special family member: her fiancé Orlando Bloom’s 13-year-old son Flynn! The “Woman’s World” star opened up about the way she bonds with the teen, who Bloom shares with ex Miranda Kerr, and it sounds so sweet.
“I’ll play things for Orlando’s son, who’s 13, and he has a really good ear,” Perry said on an interview with Audacy this week. “He’s probably the best person out of my whole family [to play music for].”

The American Idol judge even praised his taste in music. “He loved ‘Never Really Over,'” she said of her 2019 song. “I played that to him before it came out and I was like, ‘What do you think?’ And he’s like, ‘Yeah, this is good.’ So, he’s got good taste. He loves this song called ‘All the Love,’ which is on 143. And that’s like one of my favorite songs that I wrote.” Aww! What a cool thing they get to share together!
As for Perry’s 4-year-old daughter Daisy, who she shares with Bloom, she has a different taste. “She loves ‘Lifetimes’ and her current favorite is now ‘Roar,’” Perry said with a laugh. She then impersonates how her daughter requests the songs: “The ‘Roar’ one, the tiger one Mommy. Mommy, tiger!” How cute is that?! She also has a special nickname for one of Perry’s other top songs, “Firework.”
“I run a foundation called Firework Foundation,” Perry explained. “We run a camp, and she’s been with me, and she calls ‘Firework,’ um, ‘Camp Firework song.’ It just melts my heart.”

Perry and the Pirates of the Caribbean alum seem to be embracing their blended family. In an interview with Access Hollywood in 2023, Kerr shared the importance of putting her son first. “Well, when Orlando and I separated, we just said, ‘Listen, at the end of the day, the most important thing is that Flynn’s needs come first, not ours,’” the Australian model said. “So whatever we do, ‘is this in the best interest of Flynn?’ and that’s kind of how we’ve navigated it.”
Kerr, who is also mom to sons Hart, 6, Myles, 4, and baby Pierre, 6 months, with husband Evan Spiegel, added, “It’s incredible because, you know, now with Evan as my partner for the last nine years, and now we have our family, and Katy and Orlando have Daisy, it’s like we’re a blended family!” She continued, “And we go on family vacations together, we enjoy each other’s company, it’s great!”
