Kate Middleton's Emotional Health Announcement Ends Weeks of Speculation About Her Wellbeing

Kate Middleton has no doubt silenced social media conspiracy theorists after revealing her cancer diagnosis in a moving video shared on March 22.

The Princess of Wales, 42, revealed that the cancer was discovered after she underwent major abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in January, a surgery that has been the subject of much speculation in recent months after Middleton took a mysterious hiatus once she was released from hospital.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful,” Middleton said in her video statement. “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous.”

“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

Middleton praised husband Prince William as “a great source of comfort and reassurance.” She added: “This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.” Middleton is a mom to Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment,” the future queen continued. “But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.”

According to Kensington Palace, the video was filmed at Windsor Castle, where Middleton has likely been recovering since the surgery. She was seen out at a local store with Prince William this past weekend but, otherwise, royal supports have been running wild with theories about her whereabouts.

Speculation was largely spurred on after a photo of Middleton that the palace shared for Mother’s Day was pulled from several publications amid photoshop allegations. However, it seems like speculation can be put to rest now that we finally know that Middleton’s privacy was more than justified.
