Kate Middleton Seemingly Paid Homage to One of Her Most Divisive Looks From 2005 in Rare Outing
It’s been a few weeks since Catherine, Princess of Wales, better known as Kate Middleton, made headlines for attending Wimbledon. There have been reports of sightings in recent weeks, but now, she just made an ultra-rare outing right after the royal’s time off ended; and she donned a look that caused quite a stir back in 2005.
In case you missed it, on Aug 25, Kate was seen driving at Crathie Kirk with her husband Prince William, their son Prince George, King and Queen Camilla, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

In the photos obtained by DailyMail, we can see donned a beige tartan Marlborough trench coat from Holland Cooper, statement gold earrings, and a hat that caught our eye.
Now, Kate is no stranger to wearing fascinators and hats. In fact, she’s even worn quite a few fedoras like the dark brown wool felt one she donned today from Hicks & Brown. (Specifically, she wore the Suffolk one in Dark Brown with the Bronze Feather, which retails for $143.)
But the reason we’re obsessed with this hat is that it’s a wide-brimmed one with feathers, just like the one she wore back in 2005 at the Gatcombe Park Festival!
It’s almost like she’s paying homage to not only a brand she’s worn numerous times over the years, but to one of her first royal looks nearly 20 years ago. We love to see it, and we love to see Kate thriving amid her cancer diagnosis.
